Bonnie McKee was born on January 20, 1984 in Vacaville, California. She was raised in Seattle to a musical father who offered her exposure in music and theatre. Not long, she then began singing at five to a group of five girls named Seattle Girls' Choir.
Her youth was a little messy where she was called "Trouble" by people for her participation with illegal drugs and with her sexual preference. After these years, the experiences had greatly influenced her songwriting skills. Later on, she found her way to high school but decided to stop and opted for a GED certificate. '
